Vincent van Gogh
Dutch, 1853 – 1890
Post-Impressionist painter whose bold colors and expressive brushwork profoundly influenced 20th-century art. In roughly a decade of artistic activity, he created about 2,100 artworks, including approximately 860 oil paintings, most of them in the last two years of his life.
